My Story

I’m Victor Daniel Palacios, a multimedia producer from Los Angeles, California, and the son of a Mexican-Salvadoran immigrant family. Growing up in South Central Los Angeles shaped my passion for storytelling and documenting the people, cultures, and communities that make the city unique. I recently earned my Master of Science in Digital Media Management from the University of Southern California, where I further developed my skills in content strategy, digital media, and audience engagement. Combining my interests in technology, media, and communication, I create compelling visual stories through photography, video production, journalism, and social media. My goal is to use both creativity and technology to inform, inspire, and connect people through meaningful digital experiences.
A passion found during hardships

At the age of six, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a life-changing experience that introduced me to challenges far beyond my years. During countless hospital visits and treatments, I developed a desire to capture moments, share experiences, and tell stories. Even as a child, I was fascinated by cameras, technology, and storytelling.
My family, however, did not have the financial means to buy me a real video camera. Determined to pursue my curiosity, I improvised. Using pieces from a Home Depot toy toolkit, I built a wooden camera shaped like a "Handycam" handheld camcorder and spent hours pretending to record the world around me. While it wasn’t a real camera, it allowed me to imagine, create, and tell stories long before I ever held a real camera in my hands. It was my way of escaping the hardships I had to endure.
Looking back, that homemade wooden camera represented more than a childhood toy, it was the beginning of a lifelong passion. What started as a playful imagination during a difficult season of life eventually grew into a career centered on media, technology, and storytelling. Today, I use photography, video production, journalism, and digital media to capture meaningful stories and share them with audiences in ways that inform, inspire, and connect communities.
